3.Elective Subjects

III. (A) Subjects of Examination for Arts Stream.

 

(Out of the following six groups of elective subjects a student shall have to offer only four elective subjects. Each carrying a maximum of 200 marks i.e. 100 marks for 1st Year and 100 marks for 2nd Year.)

1) Political Science, 2) History/Math, 3)Logic, 4) Economics/, 5) Education/Anthropology, 6) Oriya/Sanskrit.

(B) Subjects of Examination for Science Stream.

A Student has to opt Four elective Subjects .Each elective subject carrying a maximum of 200 marks i.e. 100 marks for 1st Year & 100 marks for 2nd Year.

    1. Physics

    2. Chemistry

(One subject group A either Group-A or  4th elective subject One subject group B for 4th elective.)

      Group - A    Mathematics/Biology/Geology/      

    (Can be opted as either 3rd or 4th elective subject , one in each core)

     Group - B  Computer Science/Biotechnology/Economics/Sanskrit

     (Can be opted as  4th elective subject only)

(C) Subjects of Examination for Commerce Stream.

Each elective Subject carrying a maximum of 200 marks i.e. 100 marks for 1st Year & 100 marks for 2nd Year.

3. Business Math. & Statistics

4. Any one of the following Groups

The College imparts teaching facilities on vocational course at +2 level from the session 2004-05.

Vocational course imparted :

a)   Audio Visual Technique (AVT)Computer Applications

b)   Maintenance and Repair of Electrical Domestic Appliances(EDA)   

THREE YEAR DEGREE COURSE

+3 Ist Yr. Arts

1.   English, MIL(O)(Compulsary)

2.Any One of pass Subjects :Oriya, History, Economics,  Political Science, Mathematics,Anthropology, Philosophy, Sanskrit & Education.

3.Any one of Honours Subjects :Oriya, History, Economics, PoliticalScience, Anthropology,Philosophy, Sanskrit & English.

4.   The Physical Science Hons. (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) Students shall take Biology and the Biological Science Hons (Botany & Zoology) Students shall take mathematics & Statistics as minor elective subject.

+3 Ist Yr. Science

1.   English, MIL(O)

2.   Any two of the PCM/Geology or CBZ/Geology combination as pass subjects.

3.   Any one of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology as Honours Subject & any one of the PCM/Geology or CBZ/Geology Combination as Pass Subject.

4.   A student having Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics Hons. shall take Biology for Physical Science and student having Zoology or Botany Hons. shall take Math. & statistics for  Biology as minor elective.

+3 Ist Yr. Commerce

1.   Communicative English & Business Economy.

2.   A student with Pass shall take Financial Accounting,                  Business Regulatory Frame Work & Fundamental of  Entrepreneurship as pass subject and a student with Honours shall take opt  Business Mathematics or management as Honours along with the above three subjects.

+3 IInd Yr. Arts

1.   English, MIL(O)

2.   The pass elective subjects selected by students in 1st year shall continue.

3.   The honours subject selected by the student in 1st year shall continue.

+3 IInd Yr. Science

1.   a) Environmental Studies -50 Marks

      b) Information Technology -50 Marks

2.   The Pass & Hons. Subjects selected by student in 1st year shall continue.

3.   A student having Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics Hons. shall select any one of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and a  student having Zoology & Botany Hons. shall take Chemistry as Major Elective Subject.

+3 IInd Yr. Commerce

1.   Indian Society & Culture

2.   A student without Honours shall take Business Environment, Business statistics, Cost Accounting and Income Tax as Pass Subject. A student having Honours shall take Corporate        Accounting alongwith the above three subjects.

+3 IIIrd  Yr. Arts

1.   Indian Society & Culture -100 Marks

2.   Environmental studies – 50 Marks

3.   Population Studies/ Computer Application -- 50 Marks

3.   Both Honours & Pass students shall select an elective subject other than the one selected by him/her in the Ist & IInd year.

4.   The Honours selected by the student in the Ist year shall continue 

+3 IIIrd Yr. Science

1.   Indian Society & Culture – 100 Marks ( Pass & Hons.)

2.   A student having PCM Geology combination shall take BPSS and a student having CBZ Geology combination shall take MSBS as minor elective.

3.   A student shall select one major Elective out of Physics,       Chemistry, Mathematics which does not correspondent to his pass Subject.

+3 IIIrd Yr. Commerce

1.   Environmental Studies – 50 Marks

2.   Population Studies/ Computer Application 50 Marks

2.   A Pass Student shall take three pass subjects and Honours student shall have 5 Honours Papers.

The College imparts coaching facilities for Post Graduate courses in History & Oriya from the Academic Session 2004-05

IGNOU

      A special study centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU) has been opened from the academic session 2005-06. It imparts teachings for the following Bachelor Degree and Certificate Courses.

1.   CIC – Certificate in Computing

2.   CLP – Computer Literacy Programme

3.   BPP – Bachelor Preparatory Prgramme

4.   B.A. – Bachelor of Arts

5.   B.Com. – Bachelor of Commerce
